Module 7 of 11

Launch Without Losing Your Mind

A book launch is a coordinated marketing effort designed to generate initial momentum and visibility. Understanding what launches can and cannot accomplish prevents unrealistic expectations — and the wasted effort that follows from them.

This module covers the choice between a soft and a hard launch, an eight-week countdown to launch day, and what to expect at each audience size, from no audience at all to an established platform. It is explicit about who launches matter for — series authors and established platforms — and who they matter much less for.

The goal is a launch you can actually run: matched to the audience you have, planned in advance, and measured honestly afterwards. Launch week ends. The promotion loop that follows it does not.
