Royalties

What each partner pays INaudio varies by channel — roughly 40–50% of list price on a la carte sales, 30–40% of list on subscription, and 25–45% of receipts on revenue-share deals — so the author's take is 80% of that.

• Setup / distribution fee — not chargedINaudio's own Terms of Use state the Service is provided free of charge: no fee to open an account, upload, or distribute. Its revenue is the 20% it keeps from collected royalties.

Payment schedule

Monthly: INaudio pays royalties it has collected within 30 days of receiving them from a seller. Most sellers report monthly, some quarterly, so payouts lag the sale. Minimum payout thresholds depend on the payment method set in the author's Payment Profile.

AI training on your work

Only with your opt-inUnusually explicit and protective. The Terms of Use (last updated 10 July 2026) state that they "do not authorize INaudio or any of INaudio's distribution partners to use User Content to create a new book, ebook or audiobook, or to use User Content to create a new, machine-generated voice without your permission." AI voice cloning or model creation from an author's audio is therefore barred unless the author affirmatively permits it. INaudio also polices undisclosed AI narration through its Content Policy and marketplace-integrity review.

Content licence

The author retains ownership. The licence granted is a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to make available, display, distribute and otherwise use the audiobook only in connection with the Service and its Distribution Services — covering anti-piracy and anti-fraud, discoverability, promotion, curation, distribution and sale. Distribution partners may distribute it too, but subject to the author's right to opt out of any partner and to discontinue distribution.

Deletion

The author can opt out of any distribution partner, discontinue distribution and terminate the account at any time; on termination the Terms stop applying. The Terms warn authors to keep their own backup copies rather than rely on INaudio as sole storage.

Export

Non-exclusive throughout, with per-partner opt-out and at-will removal, and the author sets pricing — so the same audiobook can be sold anywhere else at the same time and moved away entirely without penalty.

Recent changes

1. 1 August 2025

   Findaway Voices becomes the independent INaudio

   The platform, owned by Spotify since 2022, was spun back out in August 2025 as Voices by INaudio (INaudio, LLC). Author accounts, wide non-exclusive distribution and the 80% royalty split carried over; the former Findaway / Spotify support pages now redirect to INaudio's own domain.
